Hon Uche Episeni Okafor; Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prof Solo Chukwulobelu; Chief of Staff to the Governor, Chief Primus Odili; Member, Representing Dunukofia/Njikoka/Anaocha Federal Constituency, Hon Ferdinard Dozie Nwankwo.

In appraising the sound qualities of Soludo as the worthy successor to Governor Obiano, Chief Umeh went down memory lane analysing the contributions and sacrifices Soludo made to the growth of APGA in the state. He commended Soludo’s patience, understanding, and his genuine belief in APGA and the party ideology.
Chief Umeh described Soludo as a global icon who has the capacity to do the work of a Chief Executive of the State. He said Soludo is not looking for anything because he is self-made who is only desirious in serving the good people of Anambra State.
In the course of his speech, Chief Umeh made a clarification of some online publications which quoted him as saying ‘Soludo was unelectable’.
He distanced himself from such publication, saying he doesn’t speak such language and not even to a dear friend like Soludo.
He assured Soludo of his full support and endoresment for his governorship ambition.
“We are with you together and I am appealing to everyone present here today and the entire APGA supporters in the state to give you all the maximum support.”
Chief Umeh also appealed to other aspirants in the race with Soludo in APGA to have a re-think and rally round Soludo for the governorship election.
“My appeal is that they should submit to the wishes of the people, which is also my wish and the majority of APGA members,” Chief Umeh said.
He thanked Governor Willie Obiano for his outstanding performance, particularly in the area of the solid infrastructure he has put in place in the state, which include the newly opened Airport that will generate massive employment opportunity for the people. He said with these glorious performance of the APGA government under the dynamic leadership of Governor Obiano, the emergence of Prof Soludo would be a worthy successor to continue the excellent work Obiano has done in the state.
Reacting to the speech of Chief Victor Umeh, Prof Soludo said he felt emotional listening to the wonderful speech made by the former national chairman of the party. He told the gathering that everything Chief Umeh has said concerning him was correct. He appreciated him for the sound recollection of the past events which has also made the APGA party better and stronger today.
Soludo specifically thanked Governor Willie Obiano for the great job he has done as the governor of the state. He described Obiano as not just as a governor but a statesman. He said Obiano has put a ‘strong pillar’ in place in the state adding that all the legacy projects he has done in the state will remain a reference point for many years to come. He advised that the party must continue to build on Obiano’s achievements in the state.
Soludo re-assured the audience that he will remain in APGA and help to continuously build it. He said the party shall continue to grow from ‘strength to strength’ as the founding father, Dim Odumegwu Ojukwu has envisaged it to be.
“APGA as a party is our platform, our identity and who we are as Ndigbo,” Soludo said.
He re-affirmed that the party remains the voice and power of Ndigbo to survive in Nigeria which must never be allowed to die.
He reminded the gathering that what is at stake is enormous which is beyond partisan disposition but about the collective future of Ndi Anambra and the state.
He said Anambra will become an oasis of opportunity where no one born in the state may not need to go to Lagos or Abuja in search of greener pastures. And any Anambra person who is oppressed anywhere can conveniently come home and still prosper in Anambra.
He called on the people of the state to continue to support APGA in order to continue to enjoy the dividends of democracy that the party has brought to bear in the state.
He thanked Chief Victor Umeh for hosting him and the elaborate reception accorded him; and all the dignitaries present to receive him. He assured his host, Chief Victor Umeh, and the gathering that he will live up to the confidence reposed him if he emerges the next governor of the state by their support.
Other speakers who spoke at the occasion also gave their endorsment and full support to Soludo.
