We Have No Reason To Attack South-East — Miyetti Allah

Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), has condemned in strong terms rumours making the rounds that it plans to instigate crisis in the South East.

The South East Zonal Chairman of MACBAN, Alhaji Gidado Sidikki, described the rumour as regrettable and malicious.

The rumour was in the form of a publication circulated on the social media platforms and purportedly issued from a location in Abuja.

The statement entitled, “South East will boil any moment from now, because of their stubbornness’’, was allegedly ascribed to the South East chairman of the group.

Alhaji Sidikki said that MACBAN never uttered such provocative statement either in Abuja or any other place.

According to him, “I wish to put on record that the South East zone of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association and cattle herder members who I serve as chairman enjoy warm relations with governments in the zone.

“I wish to state that this warmth has not been completely devoid of flashes of momentary conflicts at some locations.

“Such instances were, however, promptly addressed by authorities and warm communality restored among the people.

“Given increasing orientation and reorientation of our people and the locals who are landlords here, and strong commitment of the relationship between our herders across board, one harbours no doubts can only be better.”

He, then, commended Gov. Willie Obiano and South East Governors for accommodating them and creating long lasting relationship they had been enjoying. (MOI)
