‘Why Akachukwu Nwankpo Wants To Be Anambra Governor’

Raymond Ozoji,  Awka
The Director-General Media and Publicity of Nze Akachukwu Nwankpo Governorship Campaign Organization, Dr. Harris Chuma Odili, has enjoined the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) delegates to beam searchlights towards Nwankpo as a better option to consolidate on Gov. Willie Obiano’s achievements.
Odili made the call during an exclusive interview with our correspondent in Awka at the weekend.
He said that although other eminent aspirants abound on the platform of the APGA, Nze Nwankpo possessed the qualities befitting for the next governor of Anambra state.
Odili said, “One key factor in determining who gets the ticket is compassion; you can have integrity but no compassion. You can be a productive person on earth but when you seek public elective positions you need to have compassion and empathize, hear, smell and touch.
“If you cannot do that, you don’t have any business being in public office because at the end of it all, if you cannot combine them and put smiles on people’s faces you have failed. APGA delegates for the guber primaries 2021 should give Nwankpo a positive nod to lead the party to the polls.
“Nwankpo’s mission is to uplift the living standard of the people because this is something he has done in the past.
“He said people call him ‘Oputa Ifeadi because of his integrity not because of his wealth’, but he is more interested in how to impact on the lives of the people and this is in consonance with what he has done in the past and that is why he is seeking to serve as governor.
“In his community where he grew up, Nwankpo was propelled to build skills acquisition centers, water and electrification projects, supported many churches on infrastructural projects, rehabilitated schools, offered scholarships to hundreds of students in and outside his localities, carried out road construction projects, and provided healthcare services to his people, most especially the indigents old people, all from his personal pocket.
“In fact,  Nze Akachukwu Nwankpo hates to see the aged people in our society suffer untold hardship, he would promptly intervene and sort things out.”
He however made case for a transparent, credible primary election for all the aspirants where he strongly believes that Nze Akachukwu Nwankpo’s quality credentials placed him in good stead to clinch APGA ticket for the November 6 governorship election in the state.
