The Zamfara State Police Command has expressed implicit confidence on the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Ibrahim Idris, “for his ability and capacity in policing the nation.”
The Commissioner of Police (CP) in charge of Zamfara State, CP Kenneth Ebrimson, who gave the IGP a pass mark, noted that the police under IGP Idris had continued to carry out its constitutional mandate in accordance with the democratic principles of governance. Ebrimson noted that Idris was tremendously ensuring speedy dispensation of justice and protection of rights and interest of all citizens. “More so, he is always mindful of ensuring that rule of law prevails,” the CP said.
Ebrimson particularly gave kudos to the IGP in the area of crime management and control, stressing that, “the Inspector-General of Police has declared total war against terrorism, kidnappings, armed robberies and other heinous crimes especially the arrest of notorious kingpin Evans and the Vampire.”
The IG he added, “has reinforced the operational ability of Police Mobile Force, Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU), Special Protection Unit (SPU), Explosive Ordinance Device and Federal SARS. All these units have been fortified by the IGP Ibrahim Idris administration to enable them to live up to expectation.”
He, therefore, urged all Nigerians to rather than condemn and malign the police and IGP, “do everything possible to support the IGP to perform his constitutional roles better.”
